First off, WTF is an MSPA?
MSPA stands for MS Paint Adventure (or generally MS Paint Adventures, most famously by Andrew Hussie).
It is basically a webcomic in combination with a collaborative text adventure.

In an adventure game you usually control one or more characters and issue text commands like "Go to", "Examine", "Use" and so on. Since this isn't a program parsing the commands, but rather the comic author, complex and silly commands like "Punch pig in the snout to establish superiority" or "Retrieve arms from drawer". Commands are usually preceded by a single > .
Since the panels are drawn individually and this is a graphical adventure, pretty much anything is possible so be prepared for crazy shit.

How does this work in a collaboration?
Well, there's two methods. The first being "take the first command someone posts after the last update". The second being "choose from all suggestions".
I'm going for method two for the following reasons:
-All people have a relatively equal chance of suggesting something.
-I can sort out various bullshit that wouldn't get me anywhere.
-I generally get more control over the situation.
Keep in mind that you can suggest as much as you want, but also be aware that just spouting random stuff won't get us anywhere.

So, with that sorted out... let's begin!

A young colt is standing in what appears to be a jail cell.
It so happens to be that this colt has awaken just now and his memory is still incredibly foggy from a long long nap. He can't remember how long it's been since he was last awake.
Nor can he remember his own name.
What was it again?...

Of course! Your name is obviously Lockpick. How could you ever forget that.
Though you still have no clue where you are or what you're supposed to do.
There appears to be some kind of KEY on the floor and some weird PUMPKIN SHAPED THING more to the right.
The wall has some sort of BARRED WINDOW in it.
It reminds you of a jail cell, though you have no clue what a PUMPKIN is doing in a jail cell, nor how you could have gotten in jail.

You close your eyes again.
You're still in the same room and nothing seems to have changed.

You look around a bit more and notice some sort of RAIL embedded into the wall, next to the chamber you are in.
There's also some sort of CONTROL PANEL next to the rail and a CABLE is dangling from the ceiling.
Underneath the control panel is a very unstable looking METAL LADDER.

You still don't feel comfortable with the electricity fizzing next to you and you don't want to risk jumping over to the ladder, in case it might break.

You can't make out any other life form in the room though, but judging by it's height there might probably be more of these chambers further down.
It would be quite weird to have such a huge room just for one chamber now, wouldn't it?

You carefully lean out of the chamber as far as possible to use the control panel.
You can just about reach it with one of your hooves.
There's a KEYPAD that's designed for both numeric and alphabetic input as well as navigation.
The tiny DISPLAY shows a menu. Using the 8, you scroll through it.

The menu contains following points:
-Power
-Net
-Chamber
-Rail

The weird, red BUTTON at the top of the device shows some kind of percentage of something.
What exactly of, you have no idea.

That. I vote for that. Try all the options. Probably not simultaneously. I'm really not sure what "net" or "rail" would do so those could be interesting. "Power" might make light or something so that could be interesting too. I don't think we'll need to do anything with "chamber" but it can't hurt to check.

When I read stories like this, they tend to be helpful when you read everything as some bits may help/foreshadow things.
Ex: You can't wake the pony via pushing shouting, you hear water.
"Maybe you need something better to wake it?"

That might wake it.

Cecilia: What did you do over there... what does it look like?
Lockpick: Well, it's a huge room, but it looks very heavily damaged.
There's nobody around either, the place seems abandoned. I woke up in some kind of cell that had straps to bind my body. Luckily they were open.
I found some kind of keypad next to the chamber. I was just checking some things on it.

You are now CECILIA again.
Your situation is very critical. You were at the very near edge of death.
In the last second, the water started to drain and the straps let go of you.
Glaring lights turned on on both sides of the chamber you're in.
You are still extremely weak and your entire body is dripping of water.
Your mind is completely dark and not a single thought goes by.
...

After some minutes you try to stagger up to your hooves, but you fail.
Every bone and muscle seems to scream in your head simultaneously.
You try to calm yourself and breathe deep and slow.

After another 5 minutes, your head gets a bit clearer.
There's still pain every time you try to move even a part of your body.
You wish you were back by the place with the trees...

Back by the place you died.

There aren't any lights on except the one streaming from your cell outwards.
As you try to take a look around the edge, you see that there's cell after cell embedded into the wall.
All the other cells are filled with water.

Also, to answer this beforehand:
Yes, inventories do carry over. You have one globalized inventory, provided by the game system itself.
Anything you pick up, no matter with which character or where, goes there and can be used again anywhere, by any character.
(Provided it makes sense to use the element there or is appropriate to the plot, of course).

Finally some progress!
You get into a cheery mood. And since there's nobody here to listen, you suddenly decide to break out into song.

"Welcome to the new world, my sweet,
let the birds sing their song of a new age,
but be careful about what you tweet,
or you'll soon end up in a cage.

Never worry though darling,
just go along your way,
as the freedom is never far,
and always sure at bay,
no matter how trapped you are."

Yes, I wrote that myself. I hope it isn't too terrible, I never practised rhyming or song writing or poetry or anything of the likes.

Right, time for another overblown analysis of what we can/should do.

Let's start with Lockpick. He's stuck up on the platform with nothing much to do. That isn't really fair, is it? I think there's only two things he can really do; ask Cecilia to give him one of the glowy blue maps so he won't be bored or pick up the cable that's hanging from the ceiling. The cable thing comes from the first post it was mentioned in: >>3929. In it, !!Derpy gave us a hint that we should play like a 'Lucas Arts adventure game', which he later said he meant "TRY TO PICK SHIT UP ALREADY GEEZE".

Cecilia, on the other hoof, has a brand new room to explore, without the danger of falling to her death. The symbols on the map are probably meant to remain a mystery but I feel like trying to figure them out anyway. The alpha symbol is probably unique to this room so there's probably something special over there. The symbol that's under the question mark (or Lockpick's name, if you want to be pedantic) might represent the holding cells as that's where Lockpick is. That leaves the y symbol in the top right of the room. It's important enough to mark differently to everything else in the room so maybe, just maybe, it's storage of some sort.

As a sort of a side note, I'm sort of curious to see if the map works in the other place as well

You carefully pick up the cable and move the remaining map device into your personal inventory.

I probably should explain what the ">>To Reality" thing is.
Essentially, it allows an object to be partly in the inventory and partly near a real character.
In other words, it's a sort of portal between inventory and the real world.
What it's useful for you'll have to figure out yourself.

I apologize that isn't displayed in the previous inventory shot, it only occurred to me now that it was missing.

You check the machine's drawers (?) for items and find one (1) EMPTY PETRI DISH, one (1) FULL PETRI DISH labelled "Infected AH-12", two (2) FULL PETRI DISHES labelled "Bacteria Colonies", a pair (1) of TWEEZERS and some GLOWING SLIME IN A JAR.
You put it all in your inventory.
The machine looks useless otherwise. You have no technological expertise and have no idea what it could do (if it even still works) or what it's been used for.

As you take another look around the room, you notice that there must have been a lot of other machines in this room before, as rectangular spots along the walls are slightly brighter than the rest.
From all this, you gather that it must've been cleared or evacuated some time back.
You wonder how it got filled with water though.
Perhaps there's a leak some place up, through which water streamed in?

But for now, you need to get Lockpick out of his cell and down here.

Well, crap. I bet Cecelia is now infected with AH-12 because I bet that water was contaminated with it. She did say it smelled awful and had spots of green. We better keep a look out for a cure then.

Well in the pilot it's explicitely stated that both RD and Fluttershy together can't even lift Twilight, just sort barely hold her.

Tips under the spoiler:
You have to get the cart.
But to get the door open, you need to use the "inventory portal" feature I tried to explain earlier on and use both lockpick and cecilia.
I'll give more tips in case you guys don't have any ideas.

We're in some kind of freaky laboratory thing. We'll probably find a bunch of Cecelia clones and then Lockpick can have all the sloppy makeouts he could want. And it's not like she'll die immediately, the worst that could happen is she gets very sick.
>> No. 736

The disease might be communicable though, so her getting sick could mean LP getting sick as well. We still shouldn't chance it.

Lockpick connects one part of the cable to the wires at his chamber and Cecilia the other part to the control panel.
As Lockpick presses the button, a huge spark emits from the cable and hits the panel.

The door moves up just about enough for you to sneak through it and fetch a cart.
You then put it onto the rail and send it up to Lockpick.

Couldn't be arsed to draw panels for all that.

Finally the cart arrives at your cell.
You eagerly hop onto it and send it downwards again.

As soon as you arrive below, you give Cecilia a big surprise hug.
Lockpick: Oh I'm so glad you're alright!
Cecilia: Y-yeah. So am I...

You let go of her and blush a little.
Lockpick: Well... uhm.. did you find anything?
Cecilia: Not in this room really. Just some petri dishes and a busted machine... But there's another room I haven't seen yet.

There's this GLASS DOOR that won't open and you can't smash open for some fucking reason.
Not being able to smash shit makes you furious.
You wish the inventor of this damn thing would die.
Actually, you wish everything would die.
Then you'd have it all to yourself.
You mean, it's only right after what they did to you.

You look around again because you forgot what the room was full of.
Ah yeah. There's some SMASHED CHAIRS in one corner, a BROKEN MONITOR on an OLD TABLE on one side of the room.
There's also another EXIT that leads to some other room you forgot what it was about.
There also seems to be a POT PLANT in one corner of the room.
Good thing you can see all that stuff in the complete dark of the POWER OUTAGE. Too bad you can't see any colours other than greyscale and red.
